The Sea Balcony (Natural Pool at the Egnatia Turn)

Building a state-of-the-art floating/fixed platform (e.g. 40 metres wide, 20 metres into the sea) at the level of the Egnatia Turn. The platform sits 20-30cm below the water surface and is surrounded by protective railings. Built from special, anti-slip marine materials (so it doesn't grow algae), it becomes a safe, shallow 'natural pool' right inside the Thracian Sea every summer.

  • For Residents & Families: Offers a completely safe, controlled space for children to play in shallow water, right next to the city centre, without fear of waves or deep water.
  • Tourist Magnet: A genuine architectural landmark. People will flock to sit 'inside' the water watching the sunset.
  • Coastal Protection: In winter, the structure acts as a gentle breakwater, protecting the coastline.
